Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement corporate HSE policies, plans, and legislation while monitoring performance and targets
• Ensure all client safety requirements are fully met on-site
• Liaise with safety managers and contractors to improve and implement HSE management ethics
• Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with legal and client safety measures
• Review site safety plans, emergency plans, method statements, and risk analyses
• Conduct HSE inspections and report findings to the resident engineer for immediate rectification
• Lead monthly safety meetings and prepare minutes for follow-up actions
• Review emergency preparedness, permit to work systems, Toolbox Talks, and HSE statistics
• Investigate incident and accident reports, communicating learning points to prevent re-occurrence

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a construction-related Engineering degree
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Safety Engineer specifically in Highway, Bridge, or Underpass projects within the UAE
• Recognized health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH IGC or a Safety Diploma
• Valid certifications in First Aid and Fire Safety
• Working knowledge of Federal Laws, Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice, RTA Circulars, and Work Zone Traffic Management Manuals
• Ability to attend physical interviews in the UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• Audit ISO qualifications (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015) or relevant training in the UAE
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
