Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor, audit, and enforce HSE compliance on major infrastructure projects to ensure adherence to UAE Federal Law and international standards.
• Review and recommend approval for Project HSE Plans, Traffic Management Plans, and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
• Conduct daily and weekly site inspections of roadworks, bridges, tunnels, and utility trenches.
• Monitor high-risk activities including excavation, working at height, lifting operations, and confined space entry.
• Oversee traffic and public safety in coordination with RTA and Dubai Police.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis and verifying corrective actions.
• Manage environmental compliance regarding dust, noise, and waste management per Dubai Municipality regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, including incident reports, audit findings, and safety statistics.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related) or a recognized HSE qualification.
• Minimum 12 years of HSE experience in construction, with at least 8 years on major infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working within the UAE or GCC region.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or NEBOSH International Diploma.
• Deep knowledge of Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice and RTA HSE specifications.
• Proficiency in incident investigation techniques (e.g., TapRoot, 5-Why) and risk assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• RTA HSE accreditation or OSHAD-SF Practitioner registration.
• ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• IOSH Managing Safely or OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
• First Aid certification.
