Safety Engineer – Occupational Health and Safety in Defence & Space

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic advisory services to site management, leaders, and employees regarding occupational health and safety in accordance with §6 ASiG
• Design, implement, and audit sophisticated methods to identify and minimize technical and organizational hazards
• Ensure compliance with the Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV) and the Machinery Directive
• Conduct root cause analyses of critical incidents and derive preventive, group-wide strategies
• Continuously develop the occupational safety management system (ISO 45001) and prepare the site for external certification audits

Requirements

• Master or Diploma in Safety Engineering, Engineering, or a Natural Science discipline
• Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (Sifa)
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience within a large manufacturing company
• Deep expertise in ArbSchG, BetrSichV, GefStoffV, and ISO 45001
• Fluent German and very good English communication skills
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams through influence and expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an internal auditor according to ISO 19011
