Safety Engineer 3

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain occupational safety and health procedures for assigned program areas.
• Serve as a technical advisor to the EHS&Q Manager on all matters pertaining to safety programs.
• Perform hazard analyses and investigate incidents using root cause analysis techniques.
• Review engineering designs, documentation standards, and test procedures for EHS compliance.
• Manage the site’s nonconformance and corrective/preventive action tracking system.
• Conduct site visits, assist with investigations, and provide technical consultation to engineers and technicians.
• Develop metrics, performance indicators, and training support for assigned program areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a physical or biological science.
• Five years of job-related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required for unescorted access to restricted work areas.
• Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• Valid driver's license to drive on and around Kennedy Space Center.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with proficiency in computer systems and database management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Local candidates preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical and/or pressure systems.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
