Safety Data Sheet Authoring Specialist

Responsibilities

• Create and update Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for finished goods and products in development
• Ensure compliance with global and local regulatory requirements including CLP, GHS, and OSHA
• Monitor and implement regulatory changes and system updates impacting SDS content
• Maintain the SDS request process and coordinate with internal stakeholders for timely approvals
• Perform classification of substances and mixtures according to regional regulations
• Manage substance-level chemical data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
• Collaborate with Business Product Stewards and IT teams to ensure data integrity and process efficiency
• Develop and maintain work instructions and procedures related to the SDS lifecycle

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in SDS authoring for substances and mixtures
• Solid understanding of chemical regulations such as CLP, GHS, OSHA, and REACH
• Previous work experience within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, validation, and tracking
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory data
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP for SDS authoring
• Experience with spreadsheet management and data validation techniques
