Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Enforce and administer site-specific safety programs in compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and implement corrective actions
• Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Support and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Review and monitor high-risk activities such as excavation, heavy equipment, and confined space
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
• Collaborate with project leadership and subcontractors to reinforce safety expectations
• Promote a proactive, accountable safety culture across all trades

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction safety experience
• College degree in safety field or BCSP certification
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
• Experience supporting high-risk construction activities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to pass a DBIDS background

Preferred Qualifications

• Heavy civil construction experience
• EM 385-1-1 experience
• OSHA 500 certification
• CSHO or other advanced safety certifications
• Experience on federal or infrastructure projects
• HAZWOPER 40 train-the-trainer
