Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Support the Workplace Safety Manager in executing site-level safety programs, audits, and compliance initiatives
• Conduct PIT, TDR, and Yard training and monitor compliance
• Conduct routine safety inspections and walkthroughs of the returns floor
• Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and root cause analysis
• Coordinate and facilitate new hire safety orientations and ongoing training
• Maintain accurate safety records including inspection logs and OSHA 300 logs
• Support ergonomic assessments and promote safe material handling
• Partner with Area Managers and Operations leadership to reinforce safety accountability
• Respond to first aid needs and coordinate emergency response procedures
• Drive measurable improvements across site safety metrics

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in safety, operations, or warehouse environment
• OSHA 10 General Industry Certification
• Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles
• Strong attention to detail and hazard communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for up to 10 hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Business
• Experience in a returns center, fulfillment center, or high-volume warehouse
• Familiarity with safety management systems or incident tracking tools
