Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system.
• Lead new hire safety orientation and conduct annual refresher training for employees.
• Manage incident and accident reporting, including documentation, record maintenance, and workers’ compensation submissions.
• Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance documentation, such as OSHA 300 logs, safety dashboards, and safety alerts.
• Organize and facilitate Safety Committee meetings, including managing agendas and follow-up items.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and monitor employee adherence to PPE and safe work practices.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including annual evacuation drills.
• Collaborate with regional safety teams to develop and implement safety policies and risk assessments.
• Oversee contractor work and repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Fluent in written and oral English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
