About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support company safety policies, compliance procedures, and transportation safety programs.
- Ensure strict compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) regulations.
- Manage and monitor ELD, telematics, and in-cab camera systems to review safety events and driver scorecards.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, including electronic driver qualification (DQ) files and compliance databases.
- Track CDL expirations, medical cards, HazMat endorsements, and annual driver requirements.
- Assist with investigating and documenting vehicle accidents, fuel spills, and workplace injuries.
- Support driver onboarding, orientation, and ongoing safety training initiatives.
- Monitor CSA scores, violations, and fleet safety trends to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in transportation safety, DOT compliance, fleet operations, or logistics compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hours-of-Service (HOS), and ELD systems.
- Experience with fleet safety technology, telematics, and transportation safety platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific platforms such as Samsara, Netradyne, Motive, or Geotab.
- Familiarity with DOT Drug and Alcohol regulations and FMCSA Clearinghouse administration.
- Ability to analyze safety trends and compliance data to provide actionable insights.
