About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct field safety audits and inspections of construction project sites to identify hazardous conditions
- Ensure implementation of corrective actions and enforce DDC safety policies
- Enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, DOT, DOB, and MUTCD
- Prepare and issue electronic reports documenting field safety findings
- Manage safety-related electronic records and review Site Safety Plans (SSPs)
- Participate in accident investigations and support emergency response efforts
- Attend construction meetings and communicate with project staff, consultants, and contractors
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree with 28 semester credits in industrial hygiene, environmental health, occupational health, or safety engineering; OR
- Baccalaureate degree in physical/natural sciences, civil/mechanical/environmental/chemical engineering, or toxicology plus one year of relevant experience; OR
- Baccalaureate degree plus two years of relevant experience
- Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License
- Must be permanent in the Industrial Hygienist title or reachable on open-competitive lists for exam #2029 or #6064
