Safety Advisor

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support site personnel to uplift safety performance and strengthen a positive safety culture
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and reviews, providing recommendations and corrective actions
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining project safety systems, plans, and procedures
• Provide timely and practical safety advice to project teams on risk management and incident prevention
• Lead or support investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective measures
• Manage injury rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for project personnel
• Maintain current knowledge of WHS legislation, industry standards, and safety innovations

Requirements

• Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Safety Advisor or similar role within civil construction
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, incident investigation processes, and safety management systems
• Relevant certifications such as ICAM, First Aid, MHFA, RTW Coordination, Working at Heights, or Confined Spaces
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with site teams and subcontractors
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Current C-Class Driver’s Licence and ability to drive on site
