About the role
Responsibilities
- Mentor and support site personnel to uplift safety performance and strengthen a positive safety culture
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and reviews, providing recommendations and corrective actions
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining project safety systems, plans, and procedures
- Provide timely and practical safety advice to project teams on risk management and incident prevention
- Lead or support investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective measures
- Manage injury rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for project personnel
- Maintain current knowledge of WHS legislation, industry standards, and safety innovations
Requirements
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Safety Advisor or similar role within civil construction
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, incident investigation processes, and safety management systems
- Relevant certifications such as ICAM, First Aid, MHFA, RTW Coordination, Working at Heights, or Confined Spaces
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with site teams and subcontractors
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence and ability to drive on site
