Safeguarding Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, highly confidential, and secure child protection files and chronologies
• Administer individual case reviews, maintain safety plans, and manage school trip lists to flag pastoral concerns
• Act as a key administrative point of contact for external agencies including social services, the police, and local authorities
• Support the HR department by ensuring staff sign safeguarding policies and assisting with the Single Central Record (SCR)
• Schedule, attend, and take minutes for complex multi-agency meetings, child protection conferences, and governor briefings

Requirements

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft 365
• Experience with CPOMS or similar school information systems
• Absolute discretion, diplomacy, and the ability to handle sensitive personal information securely
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for liaising with parents, children, and professionals
• A secure understanding of UK statutory safeguarding legislation, such as Keeping Children Safe in Education
