Rust Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Support engineering team members in embedded software application development using Rust
• Lead the adoption and deployment of Rust, including design patterns and tooling across product lines
• Apply computer science and mathematical principles to develop software for target hardware
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate hardware-software interfaces and system performance
• Participate in all SDLC phases including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and formal testing
• Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions
• Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation
• Participate in peer reviews and defect tracking
• Utilize Rust, C/C++, and Python for embedded real-time operating systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 2+ years, or 8+ years of relevant experience
• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• 1+ years of experience developing Rust software for production systems
• Experience with C/C++ development and object-oriented design
• Experience with embedded systems development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience converting C/C++ code to Rust
• Experience developing Rust software specifically for embedded systems
• Exposure to software modeling and UML tools (e.g., IBM Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or Cameo)
• Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSP) for real-time embedded systems
• Experience with Information Assurance or cryptography
• Experience with NSA Type 1 certification or DO-178 software certification
