RSMS Technician

Responsibilities

• Remotely diagnose problems with rig control system components, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, control networks, and HMI computers
• Provide troubleshooting support to field maintenance personnel using logical troubleshooting methods
• Coordinate efforts between maintenance, operations, engineering, and third-party vendors to expedite high-priority repairs
• Retrieve and analyze historical data from rig dataloggers for post-event reconstruction and performance improvement
• Prepare technical reports, journal entries, and multimedia presentations to promote organizational learning
• Act as the primary liaison between field personnel and engineering for technical inquiries
• Monitor drilling operations and rig alarm conditions to relay critical information for corrective action
• Work a rotating 14/14 shift to provide 24/7 call center coverage from the Tulsa, OK office

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems
• Proficiency in reading schematics and using various test equipment
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on Excel
• Ability to work onsite in Tulsa, OK on a rotating shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• 5+ years of experience in electrical and electronics theory and troubleshooting
• Experience in the oil and gas industry
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Spanish language proficiency
