RPG Designer

Responsibilities

• Design narrative and gameplay content within specific game areas, taking ownership from initial concept through to final implementation and quality assurance.
• Ensure logical and well-paced narrative flow by balancing situations, dialogue, and environmental areas.
• Develop creative solutions for quest design challenges and oversee their execution.
• Conduct progress reviews and collaborate with other departments to gather feedback and reach an optimal finished state.
• Write and maintain detailed documentation to communicate design changes across the studio.
• Take a holistic approach to implementation, considering how design decisions impact various departments and technical constraints.
• Analyze player motivations and expectations to ensure impactful gameplay experiences.

Requirements

• Proven ability to lead creative elements, communicate with stakeholders, and iterate based on feedback.
• Strong understanding of narrative pacing, beats, and player expectation analysis.
• Ability to identify creative solutions to complex problems and adapt to evolving needs in an agile environment.
• High level of digital literacy with proficiency in tools such as G Suite, Confluence, and Jira.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain undaunted by complexity and change.
• Ability to work on-site in Ireland to support studio collaboration and creativity.
