Rough Mill Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate rough mill machinery including saws, planers, moulders, and ripsaws to process lumber to specifications
• Set up, monitor, and adjust equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality
• Use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges to verify tolerances
• Assemble and prepare rough mill components according to work instructions and quality standards
• Safely receive, stage, and move raw lumber and finished components throughout the facility
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following housekeeping standards
• Participate in cross-training across various rough mill processes to support production flexibility

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience demonstrating competency
• Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and simple measurements
• Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to read and interpret measurements and specifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced math or technical skills related to equipment setup and dimensional tolerances
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
