ROS/Chief Detector Car Operator

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe and effective operation and maintenance of on-track Ultrasonic Rail Test vehicles
• Operate hy-rail vehicles on the track and perform light maintenance on medium-duty trucks
• Ensure strict compliance with all railroad rules, regulations, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) standards
• Inspect and maintain specialized electronic equipment
• Understand and apply ultrasonic non-destructive testing principles
• Develop positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and contractors

Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• 1 or more years of experience operating hy-rail test equipment
• Ultrasonic Non-Destruction Testing (NDT) Level 1 and Level 2 Certification
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Ability to meet FMCSA medical requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers
• Ability to pass required safety and rule compliance tests to become track qualified
