Rock Climbing Instructor

Responsibilities

• Lead rock climbing classes, programs, and open climb sessions for participants of various ages and skill levels
• Teach climbing fundamentals, including belaying, movement techniques, and equipment use
• Explain and demonstrate proper use of climbing equipment and safety procedures
• Belay participants and supervise open climbing sessions
• Enforce safety rules and risk management practices at all times
• Maintain climbing gym operations, including setup, organization, and cleanliness of the space
• Complete required documentation including attendance, waivers, and inspection logs

Requirements

• Previous climbing experience required
• Strong understanding of climbing safety practices and risk management
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to lead groups and engage participants of diverse ages and backgrounds
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability for the following shifts: Mondays 4-6 pm, Wednesdays 11 am - 2 pm, Thursdays 4-8:15 pm, and Saturdays 10 am - 2 pm

Preferred Qualifications

• Belay certification
• Prior climbing instruction experience
