Robotics Software Intern

Responsibilities

• Develop middleware drivers linking hardware to the robotics software stack
• Integrate the robotics stack with the broader software architecture
• Test and debug robotics algorithms using software-in-the-loop simulation
• Perform data association on detected objects for localisation and tracking
• Develop autonomous mission planning software for safe, mission-critical operations
• Participate in frequent at-sea field testing in various weather conditions

Requirements

• Pursuing B.Eng or MSc in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS) framework
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux
• Experience integrating sensors and actuator hardware
• Experience with perception and fusion algorithms and libraries (OpenCV, Point Cloud Library, tracking filters)
• Comfortable working on-site and in the field, including frequent sea deployments
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across sub-teams
• Positive learning mindset with ability to quickly absorb and apply knowledge
