Robotics Engineering Manager

We deliver our system through a Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, making Physical AI accessible to manufacturers to handle tedious, hazardous, and ergonomically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering output and train a team of capable engineers
• Architect, debug, build, and launch physical systems
• Break down complex system-level issues across the hardware/software stack
• Serve as a coach and mentor, training engineers in structured problem solving
• Create onboarding and ongoing learning frameworks for the SAE team
• Conduct performance reviews and career development conversations
• Allocate SAE resources dynamically based on cross-functional needs
• Communicate team bandwidth, skill alignment, and project risk to the broader organization
• Work closely with Product and other stakeholders to ensure clarity in handoffs and timelines

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Robotics, Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field
• 6+ years experience building and launching complex physical systems
• 2+ years experience managing performance and allocating team resources
• Strong systems thinking with hands-on experience across hardware, firmware, and software
• Familiarity with ROS and embedded systems
• Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee for export control compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years experience building and launching complex physical systems
• 4+ years managing engineers directly
• Experience as a Principal Engineer with formal people leadership responsibilities
• Experience in a high-growth startup or scaling environment
• Experience scaling internal training programs or onboarding systems
