Robotics Engineer

General Robotics is building the future of general robot intelligence. Our mission is to enable the rapid, robust, and safe deployment of general intelligence for autonomous systems and robotics through our core platform, GRID.

Responsibilities

• Set up robots for real-world deployments including edge compute and sensor suites
• Deploy state-of-the-art AI models on physical hardware and lead field evaluation
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments with rigorous hypotheses
• Design data collection routines to acquire high-quality data for model fine-tuning
• Optimize systems for bandwidth, compute, and latency constraints on edge devices
• Collaborate with AI and Simulation Engineers to transition techniques to the field
• Translate field learnings into scalable capabilities within the GRID platform

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in robotics, machine learning, or control algorithms
• Proficiency in ROS/ROS2, Python, and C++
• Experience implementing and evaluating end-to-end robot learning systems
• Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
• Current and ongoing work authorization in the US

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of deploying controllers and data pipelines on multiple robotic platforms
• Experience with constrained edge compute devices like NVIDIA Jetson
• Experience handling sensitive data and adhering to security protocols
