About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms for perception-aided control of manipulators on mobile robots for real-world applications
- Prototype in scripting languages and transition applications to deployment with production-quality code
- Design, develop, document, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications and integrated systems
- Survey literature and implement innovative techniques to solve complex robotic problems
- Follow team software development protocols, including peer reviews, unit testing, and version control
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers on co-design and joint decision-making
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of combined graduate academic and professional software development experience
- Experience with 3D perception, including LiDAR, stereo vision, RGB-D, and point cloud processing
- Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, and control of manipulators
- Background in motion planning (e.g., MoveIt, OMPL, RRT*) or grasp/manipulation planning
- Strong C++ skills and Linux development experience
- Proficiency in scripting languages for prototyping, such as Python or Matlab
- Strong technical communication and collaborative skills
