Robotic Software Engineer, Perception

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt cutting-edge AI/ML algorithms for the perception autonomy stack.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control various sensors including EO, IR, acoustics, radar, and RF.
• Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to deploy heterogeneous platform swarms for DoD testing.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices using computer-in-the-loop testing and profiling.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand requirements and triage needs during field events.
• Drive execution of simulation tooling to playback sensors and autonomy for post-processing field test analysis.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Optimization, or equivalent (or 5+ years of relevant experience).
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities such as EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, or acoustics.
• Experience training and deploying ML algorithms using Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with tracking basics (e.g., Kalman filters) and optimal sensor fusion.
• Proficiency working in Linux and Docker environments.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% for hardware integration and demonstrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with modern C++ (2011, 2017, 2020), CMake, Python, and Bash.
• PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with an AI/ML focus.
• Experience with robotic swarm or multi-agent systems and optimization.
• Strong background in tracking and sensor fusion.
• Current U.S. SECRET security clearance.
