Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise algorithms for autonomous navigation, decision-making, and motion planning
• Work with the machine learning team to build solutions for robot adaptability in dynamic environments
• Create teaming strategies and maintain simulators and hardware-in-the-loop systems
• Actively participate in field testing to validate system performance in real-world environments
• Integrate and optimise sensors, cameras, and hardware components
• Ensure seamless communication between hardware and software components
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Engineering
• Proficiency in deploying code or firmware to edge devices
• Proven experience with Python and/or C++
• 3+ years of experience in computer vision, robotic control, motion planning, or edge computing
• Ability to perform fieldwork and travel with robotic systems
• Must hold Australian Working Rights

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 development
• Experience with CUDA or NVIDIA Jetson platforms
• Knowledge of database systems
• Hands-on experience with UAVs or similar robotic platforms
• Understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) devices
• Proficiency in real-time operating systems (RTOS)
