Robot Prototype Technician

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble robot prototype systems and components using tools, 3D printing, soldering, and machining
• Review and understand mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Repair mechanical components such as actuators, motors, gearboxes, and bearings
• Repair electrical systems including wiring, circuits, power supplies, and sensors
• Conduct functional tests and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Collaborate with hardware design engineers to iterate designs based on experimental results

Requirements

• 2+ years of prototyping technician experience
• Proficiency with electromechanical systems (AC/DC motors, wiring, controllers, gears, bearings)
• Soldering and harness/wiring skills
• Ability to use CAD software (Solidworks, Onshape) to view design files
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
• Experience with diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and PLCs
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with rapid prototyping tools and 3D printers
• Experience with robotic systems
• Associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field
• Relevant certifications in electrical or mechanical systems
