About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach at all levels of the curriculum, including 100-level world history, 200- and 300-level Civil War era history, and senior seminars
- Contribute to scholarship, advising, mentoring, and service to the History Department and the College
- Participate in the First-Year Seminar and Second-Year Seminar programs as part of the general curriculum
- Collaborate with the Civil War Institute and its various campus programs
Requirements
- Ph.D. in history
- Rank of Professor or eligibility for the rank of Professor
- Distinguished scholarship in Civil War era history
- Proven record of teaching excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Research expertise in the Civil War era with teaching expertise extending into the 20th century
