About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach at all levels of the curriculum, including 100-level world history, 200- and 300-level Civil War era history, and senior seminars
  • Contribute to scholarship, advising, mentoring, and service to the History Department and the College
  • Participate in the First-Year Seminar and Second-Year Seminar programs as part of the general curriculum
  • Collaborate with the Civil War Institute and its various campus programs

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in history
  • Rank of Professor or eligibility for the rank of Professor
  • Distinguished scholarship in Civil War era history
  • Proven record of teaching excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research expertise in the Civil War era with teaching expertise extending into the 20th century
