Roadway Foreman

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of field crews
• Oversee installation of traffic signal systems, roadway lighting, underground conduit, and ITS systems
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans
• Plan daily work activities, sequencing, and crew assignments
• Coordinate with General Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, and inspectors
• Monitor crew productivity and adjust resources to meet schedule and budget
• Conduct daily job briefings, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
• Track and report daily production, manpower, and job progress
• Manage materials, tools, and equipment usage on site
• Ensure proper traffic control setup and safe work zones
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members and apprentices

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 5–8+ years of experience in roadway electrical construction, traffic signals, or lighting systems
• Strong knowledge of traffic signal systems, roadway lighting, and underground conduit
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong leadership and team management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of leadership or Foreman experience
