Roadway Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway engineering and design assignments using standard and advanced engineering techniques
• Utilize drafting and modeling software to develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed roadway designs
• Conduct design calculations, including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
• Lead the production of technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structures, drainage, traffic, and utilities
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers to ensure quality and adherence to standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive roadway or highway engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is required
• Proven experience with DOT or municipal transportation projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Geopak, and/or OpenRoads
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of GDOT design manuals and applicable roadway design standards
