Roadway Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and supervise the creation of contract documents for transportation projects
• Define project scope, prepare budgets and schedules, and provide technical direction
• Analyze design issues and provide detailed design solutions that satisfy client needs
• Deliver technical products including detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, and technical reports
• Mentor junior staff members and provide technical guidance to CAD Designers and Drafters
• Support multi-disciplinary activities and develop leadership skills for future project management

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of related professional work experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
• Proficiency in CAD and standard PC software packages used in road engineering
• Experience developing 3D finite elements models
• Experience with DOT Road and wall design

Preferred Qualifications

• DOT pre-certification in Road and culvert design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to lead and motivate team members in completing project tasks
• Ability to lead technical discussions and provide training related to roadway engineering
