Roadway Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead project management duties including setting schedules, tracking budgets, and preparing invoices
• Implement project designs for multimodal transportation corridors, roadways, highways, and multi-use trails
• Use Civil3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads as the primary transportation design modeler and for plan production
• Oversee data collection, technical analyses, and written documentation
• Participate in client meetings, technical group gatherings, and public hearings
• Mentor and assist with the analytical work of junior team members
• Support business development through proposal preparation, client interviews, and marketing events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of experience in Transportation Engineering with a focus on Roadway Design
• Professional Engineer (PE) License or active pursuit of licensure in Iowa or Nebraska
• Proficiency with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal design standards (e.g., IowaDOT, SUDAS, Nebraska DOT)

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License in South Dakota or Kansas
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
