Road Structures Specialist (Bridges, Tunnels)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction and maintenance of bridges, viaducts, and tunnels
• Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and material submittals
• Coordinate activities with other engineers, construction supervision team members, and high-level clients
• Monitor the performance of engineers, inspectors, and surveyors
• Conduct site visits and inspections in coordination with Structural Engineers and the QAQC team
• Ensure accuracy of records and the correctness of as-built drawings
• Oversee the implementation of safety procedures and ensure project safety goals are achieved
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the design and construction supervision of bridges and tunnels
• Proven experience in bridge/tunnel inspection, condition assessment, and identifying deterioration causes
• Knowledge of bridge maintenance management systems
• Proficiency in structural engineering PC software packages
• Fluency in both Arabic and English with strong technical writing skills
• Familiarity with industry practices and local/international design codes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure projects in the Gulf region
• Previous engineering consultancy experience within the UAE or GCC
• Ability to utilize advanced AI technology to analyze inspection and maintenance data
