About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all aspects of surgical and endoscopy case scheduling within the Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs)
  • Analyze case length, staffing availability, supply/equipment needs, and anesthesia resources to optimize case placement and turnover
  • Identify and resolve equipment or scheduling conflicts before they impact surgical operations
  • Monitor open block time and coordinate outreach to physicians and clinic schedulers to fill open capacity
  • Act as the primary liaison between the ASC and physician offices, promoting effective block time use and clear communication
  • Ensure surgical scheduling adheres to all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and internal policies
  • Review and verify physician credentials and delineation of privileges related to procedures performed in the ASC
  • Collaborate with OR leadership on workflow improvements and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide clinical oversight and act as a resource to ASC staff regarding surgical procedures and patient needs

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active license in Texas
  • 5+ years of experience as an RN in a surgical setting (OR)
  • Advanced clinical judgment and deep knowledge of surgery scheduling
  • High level of computer proficiency
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in ASC scheduling or OR clinical leadership
  • Experience with surgery scheduling software (e.g., OR Manager, Cerner, Epic)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
