RN Progressive Care

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care within a 72-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.
• Deliver care to critically ill patients requiring cardiac drip titration, ventilation support, and high-level supportive care.
• Practice patient and family-centered care by incorporating patient/family input and goals into the plan of care.
• Develop and document patient and family teaching strategies in the health record.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and Telemetry Technicians.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire.
• Graduates from non-accredited schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and have passed the NCLEX.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty Certification within 2 years of hire.
