RN PreOp/PACU

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ physical and mental health, gather medical history, and prepare them for surgery
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV fluids
• Provide clear explanations of surgical procedures to patients and families
• Verify informed consent and implement safety protocols
• Conduct venipuncture and blood draws
• Monitor vital signs and oxygen levels during anesthesia recovery
• Administer pain medication and manage post-operative complications
• Assess readiness for discharge and provide discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Valid RN license in the appropriate state
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum one year of ER or ICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum two years of nursing experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing
• Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
