RN Case Manager, Inpatient Oncology (Weekends)

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized case management for a defined caseload of oncology patients to ensure appropriate level of care and timely discharge planning
• Assess discharge planning needs at admission and throughout hospitalization, identifying and addressing potential barriers
• Perform regular concurrent reviews to ensure medical necessity and coordinate services for safe, timely transitions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and clinical nursing staff, to ensure continuity of care and proper clinical documentation
• Work with insurance carriers and billing departments to obtain authorizations, manage denials, and support appeals for treatment coverage

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license/registration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical hospital nursing experience
• Minimum of 2–3 years of Case Management, Utilization Review (UR), or Managed Care experience
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing health insurance coverage and reimbursement
• Ability to work a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Friday to Monday (Saturday and Sunday required)
