RN Case Manager, Inpatient Oncology

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive case management for a caseload of oncology patients
• Assess discharge planning needs upon patient admission
• Perform regular concurrent reviews and coordinate services, including home care, to facilitate safe transitions to the next level of care
• Act as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical nursing staff regarding ongoing patient care
• Work with insurance carriers and billing departments to initiate appeals and acquire treatment authorizations

Requirements

• Current NYS Registered Nurse License/Registration
• BSN degree
• 2-3 years of clinical hospital nursing experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing health insurance coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Managed Care, Utilization Review (UR), or Case Management (CM)
• Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and negotiation skills
