Risk Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and enhancement of key Risk Engines, including Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Market Risk Limits, and CVaR engines.
• Integrate key applications, processes, and data inherited through company acquisitions.
• Utilize Agentic AI to assist in code generation while maintaining the ability to challenge and defend the output.
• Standardize input and output data through key Risk vendor platforms.
• Develop and maintain procedures, workflows, and technical documentation relating to Risk Engines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for backlog management and work with QA teams to establish testing strategies.
• Identify and define new process improvement opportunities within the Risk stream.

Requirements

• Full-stack Python development expertise, specializing in numerical processing using Pandas, Numpy, Polars, and PySpark.
• Experience with asynchronous tasks, coroutines, and Unix environments.
• Proven ability to build scalable applications involving intensive risk-based processing.
• Experience packaging software for distribution using Docker, Poetry, or Databricks bundles.
• Proficiency with Databricks and data persistence using relational or non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies (ECS, Lambda, S3, EventBridge).
• Experience implementing TDD (Test Driven Development) or automation testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C#, TypeScript, or React.
• Previous experience working within a regulated financial environment.
• Knowledge of risk and compliance requirements associated with financial services.
