Risk Operations Specialist, Payments

Responsibilities

• Support the daily management of payment workflows including ACH, wire transfers, and card payments
• Monitor and reconcile payment activity to identify and resolve transaction discrepancies
• Coordinate refund and money movement processes while communicating status to internal teams and customers
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Risk, and Product teams to resolve user-reported payment issues
• Prepare data and documentation for audits and regulatory reporting
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose process improvements
• Maintain accurate process documentation and support knowledge management

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in Payment Operations, Financial Operations, or Treasury Operations
• Working knowledge of ACH, wire transfers, and card payment systems
• Experience using and building with AI tools to enhance productivity
• Strong attention to detail and experience with complex reconciliations
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth startups
• Familiarity with SQL or basic data analysis tools
• Exposure to risk or compliance operations
• Experience with customer support systems like Zendesk or Salesforce
