Risk Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as an onsite operational risk partner by setting and monitoring exposure limits and guardrails.
• Monitor cross-asset exposures and key risk dynamics using firm-provided tools.
• Perform daily and intraday risk monitoring to identify and escalate material exposures, concentrations, and anomalies.
• Liaise with internal teams and external brokers, clearing firms, and exchanges on margin, financing, and market access.
• Triage trade-lifecycle issues including trade capture, allocations, reconciliations, and connectivity.
• Use Python, SQL, and Excel to query datasets and automate reporting.
• Coordinate risk initiatives across regions and support follow-the-sun handoffs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a risk or trading role at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or investment bank.
• Hands-on experience in at least one major liquid asset class (e.g., Equities, Futures, FX, Rates, or Options).
• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago or New York and maintain composure in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA, FRM, or similar professional credentials.
• Familiarity with prime brokerage, clearing, and margin/financing.
• Experience using Bloomberg or similar financial data tools.
