Risk Manager | Equities

Responsibilities

• Serve as the NYC operational risk partner by setting and monitoring exposure limits and guardrails.
• Monitor factor, sector, liquidity, and correlation exposures across strategies and firm-level aggregates.
• Perform daily and intraday risk monitoring to identify and escalate material exposures, concentrations, and anomalies.
• Apply US equity market microstructure knowledge to inform monitoring, limits, and controls.
• Liaise with internal partners and external prime brokers, clearing firms, and exchanges regarding margin, financing, and market access.
• Triage trade-lifecycle issues including trade capture, allocations, reconciliations, and connectivity.
• Use Python, SQL, and Excel to query datasets and automate reporting.

Requirements

• 7+ years of equities-focused risk or trading experience (cash equities preferred).
• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
• Fluency in operational risk across the trade lifecycle, including prime brokerage, clearing, and market access controls.
• Literacy in factor models (e.g., Barra, Axioma) and common risk measures like VaR.
• Practical knowledge of US equity market microstructure.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Bloomberg, and advanced Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively and remain calm under high-pressure environments.
• Ability to work onsite in New York with occasional off-hours support.
