About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor and mitigate offline risks including organized crime, human trafficking, and other criminal activities.
- Use internal data, OSINT, and third-party intelligence to identify undiscovered instances of abuse.
- Pull actionable insights from large datasets to develop new mitigation strategies.
- Communicate findings to management and product teams to enhance decision-making.
- Collaborate with trust product and engineering teams to implement safety risk mitigation products.
- Lead intricate investigations involving large datasets and multiple stakeholders.
- Develop investigative frameworks, methodologies, and enforcement policies to address emerging threats.
- Refine automated monitoring and alert systems to detect abnormalities in customer behavior.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of investigative experience, preferably within a major technology or travel company.
- Intermediate SQL skills with the ability to write and edit simple to semi-complex queries.
- Expertise in data analysis and the ability to use data insights to inform risk management.
- Previous experience in Trust & Safety, fraud detection, or risk management on a user-centric platform.
- Ability to conduct deep-dive investigations by interrogating both technical and behavioral signals.
- Proven track record of analyzing and mitigating high-impact threats and threat actors.
- Must be located on the West Coast or able to work West Coast hours (PST/MST) until 5:30 PM PST.
- Ability to occasionally work holidays, weekends, or evenings during emergency events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Subject matter expertise in organized crime, such as human trafficking or drug trafficking.
- Experience monitoring and mitigating offline safety risks.
- Understanding of the criminal applications of technology.
- Experience delivering intelligence reports on geopolitical, cyber, and violent actor behaviors.
