Risk Engineer II, Equipment Breakdown

Responsibilities

• Perform risk evaluations and assess exposures and controls to mitigate equipment breakdown risks.
• Conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections in accordance with jurisdictional rules and standards.
• Identify hazardous conditions, recommend corrective actions, and submit required technical reports.
• Perform claims investigations, including evaluating accident elements, damage verification, and cause of loss.
• Provide risk improvement services and preventative maintenance management evaluations to customers.
• Develop detailed risk assessment documentation to assist underwriters in evaluating risks and premiums.
• Support global consultancy efforts by delivering sustained and contracted service offerings to clients.

Requirements

• Current National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel commission is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting boilers and pressure vessels.
• Sound proficiency and experience with industrial, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to fulfill additional state jurisdiction requirements to obtain necessary state commissions.
• Strong written communication skills for developing technical reports and risk evaluations.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to interact with a wide variety of customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or four-year college degree in Engineering or Science.
• Experience delivering standalone consulting projects.
• A consultative and client-centric service mindset.
