Risk & Controls Oversight Senior Lead

Responsibilities

• Assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
• Oversee risk and control across Retail customers referred for Investment and Wealth products, ensuring alignment with Consumer Duty expectations.
• Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to improve control effectiveness through detailed documentation of assessments, procedures, and findings.
• Develop reports to communicate key findings, control weaknesses, and recommendations to senior management and control owners.
• Monitor compliance with ring-fencing requirements and oversee risks within digital channels, including customer journeys and omni-channel experiences.
• Support robust governance and clear accountability across Retail, Wealth, and Prive Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM) sectors.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Risk assessment and the design of risk strategies.
• Deep knowledge of Retail Banking Customer Journeys to identify and manage associated risks.
• Proven expertise in transformation and change delivery within a risk management context.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence at the Managing Director level.
• Ability to balance risk management with commercial objectives and define Risk Appetite effectively.
• Subject matter expertise in Retail and Wealth risk, particularly within Customer & Digital functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing complex, multi-year assignments and guiding technical direction.
• Ability to apply sophisticated analytical thought to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Strong understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and the broader regulatory risk environment.
