About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, specify, and apply riser system design criteria for large-scale deepwater capital projects, R&D programs, and offshore installation activities.
- Execute and oversee riser analysis studies, including strength, fatigue, interference, and installation analyses.
- Support riser engineering activities across various project stages, from concept evaluation and FEED to installation and commissioning.
- Interface with multi-discipline teams (marine, pipelines, flow assurance, materials) and external suppliers or contractors to ensure alignment with company expectations.
- Lead revisions to company standards and industry practices.
- Participate in risk assessments, technology evaluations, and fitness for service assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering (or related disciplines) with a minimum GPA of 7.0.
- 3-15 years of experience in Riser Engineering, specifically involving dynamic riser system development or engineering support.
- Demonstrated experience with rigid, flexible, or hybrid risers and/or dynamic umbilical systems.
- Proficiency in industry-standard FE software such as OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, or similar for dynamic riser analysis.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills for collaborating with globally diverse teams.
- Ability to work a shift schedule of 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST.
- Willingness to travel internationally (less than 10%) as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of applying riser engineering codes and standards, such as API (e.g., API 2RD, 17J) or DNV.
- Experience leading or coordinating the work of other riser engineers.
