Riser Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, specify, and apply riser system design criteria for large-scale deepwater capital projects, R&D programs, and offshore installation activities.
• Execute and oversee riser analysis studies, including strength, fatigue, interference, and installation analyses.
• Support riser engineering activities across various project stages, from concept evaluation and FEED to installation and commissioning.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams (marine, pipelines, flow assurance, materials) and external suppliers or contractors to ensure alignment with company expectations.
• Lead revisions to company standards and industry practices.
• Participate in risk assessments, technology evaluations, and fitness for service assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering (or related disciplines) with a minimum GPA of 7.0.
• 3-15 years of experience in Riser Engineering, specifically involving dynamic riser system development or engineering support.
• Demonstrated experience with rigid, flexible, or hybrid risers and/or dynamic umbilical systems.
• Proficiency in industry-standard FE software such as OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, or similar for dynamic riser analysis.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills for collaborating with globally diverse teams.
• Ability to work a shift schedule of 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST.
• Willingness to travel internationally (less than 10%) as required by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of applying riser engineering codes and standards, such as API (e.g., API 2RD, 17J) or DNV.
• Experience leading or coordinating the work of other riser engineers.
