RISCV CPU Design Verification Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans for specific CPU design units and features
• Utilize simulation and formal verification methodologies to develop testbench components, including checkers, assertions, and stimulus generators
• Collaborate with system architects, design teams, software teams, and SoC teams to validate complex system use cases
• Partner with emulation teams to enable verification on emulators and FPGA platforms
• Debug and triage failures across simulation, emulation, and silicon environments
• Implement assembly and C language tests to verify CPU architecture

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of hardware engineering experience (or equivalent advanced degree experience)
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages
• Strong knowledge of HDLs such as Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Deep understanding of CPU architectures and micro-architectures
• Experience verifying power management features (e.g., clock gating, power gating, UPF, DVFS/DCVS)

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of digital logic design, microprocessors, and DFT architecture
• Experience with advanced verification techniques, including formal verification and assertions
• Knowledge of DFT and structural debug methodologies such as JTAG, IEEE1500, MBIST, and scan/memory dumps
• Industry experience with major architectures like x86, ARM, MIPS, RISC-V, or POWER
