Rigger

Responsibilities

• Align, level, and anchor cranes and equipment
• Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear
• Connect pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment
• Select gears, cables, and shackles according to load size and work schedule
• Signal or give direction to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting and lifting

Requirements

• Excellent mechanical reasoning
• Good perception of math applications, weights, measurement, and balance
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility with schedule, including travel and overtime
• Ability to pass a drug test, fit for duty assessment, and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification
