RF Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and development of radiofrequency and microwave hardware from UHF 200 MHz through Ka band 30 GHz
• Design printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) including architecture, schematic capture, component selection, layout, and debugging
• Qualify designs through environmental testing including vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate designs into spacecraft systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related STEM field
• 1+ years of experience in microwave and RF engineering
• Experience designing multilayer PCBAs and integrating COTS ICs using Altium or similar tools
• Experience with RF circuit modeling software such as Cadence AWR Microwave Office or Keysight ADS
• Experience with RF test equipment including VNA and spectrum analyzers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with component selection for space radiation environments
• Experience with antenna and electromagnetic modeling tools like Ansys HFSS or Altair FEKO
• Experience with FPGA design and verification for RF applications
• Experience with software defined radio (SDR) hardware development
• Experience with phased arrays and digital beamforming
• Knowledge of RF digital communications and DSP concepts
