Revenue Cycle Financial Specialist

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify demographic, guarantor, and insurance information via telephone or face-to-face.
• Ensure preauthorizations, referrals, and precertifications are completed in accordance with payor requirements.
• Manage the patient reimbursement process, including identifying options for insurance coverage and financial assistance.
• Assist patients with financial assistance applications and Medicaid application processes.
• Investigate and resolve charge disputes, process patient refunds, and make payment arrangements on past due balances.
• Coordinate with clinical staff, insurance companies, and coverage vendors to ensure clean billing and payment.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of hospital revenue cycle processes and treatment policies.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience in medical insurance verification and hospital finance (including Hospital Billing).
• Proficiency with Windows-based PCs.
• Strong analytical, math, and financial assessment skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
