Revenue Accounting Lead

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end revenue accounting process including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, incentives, refunds, credits, and breakage
• Lead technical accounting analysis under ASC 606, including principal vs. agent assessments and marketplace-specific complexities
• Develop fluency in marketplace economics and serve as a thought partner to VP-level stakeholders
• Prepare and review complex monthly revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses
• Ensure integrity and scalability of revenue data flows between billing systems, product databases, and NetSuite
• Design and strengthen internal controls to support SOX readiness
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Legal, and Operations to assess accounting implications of new features
• Drive SEC disclosure readiness for revenue, including revenue footnotes and MD&A narratives
• Apply AI tools to accelerate revenue accounting workflows and lead proof-of-concept initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Big Four or equivalent public accounting experience
• Experience in high-growth SaaS, marketplace, or technology companies
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and expertise in ASC 606
• Proven experience in technical accounting research and drafting memos
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Ability to query and analyze large datasets using SQL, Looker, or other BI tools
