Reuse Shop Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, inclusive, and professional experience for customers, volunteers, and visitors
• Operate the till and point-of-sale system accurately, handling cash and card transactions
• Prepare donated items for sale by checking, cleaning, pricing, and merchandising stock
• Maintain high standards of shop presentation, cleanliness, and safety
• Support effective stock rotation and the recycling of unsuitable items
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to support day-to-day operations

Requirements

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good numeracy, literacy, and cash-handling skills
• Experience operating a till or point-of-sale system
• Well-organized, reliable, and detail-oriented with effective time management
• Understanding of health and safety requirements and basic manual handling practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Awareness of reuse, recycling, and environmental sustainability
